So the strangest thing happened to me going to work yesterday. I was driving through a round about here in Ferndale when I heard something bounce off of the roof of my car. I was very worried at first because there was about 3 utility trucks doing work in the area I had just driven through. I slowed way down and started looking around like crazy. I happened to look in my rear view mirror just in time to see a crow picking itself up off the road right behind me. The dang thing had dive bombed my car for some odd reason. And people wonder why I don't like crows that much, lol.

Wow, this week has been a busy one. I guess the best place to start is thursday when I stood up to my boss and basically told him that the way I was running the machines was better than how he wanted me to run them and I had the numbers to prove it. Friday he had a long talk with the owner and at the end of the day, I was told I was fired for not listening to instruction, i.e. I wasn't doing it his way. But things turned around saturday when my dad and step-mom came up and helped me look over a motorcycle that I ended up buying for $500. I kinda needed it since it runs good and gets WAY better gas mileage than my beast of a car, lol. So monday I get to start the whole job hunt ordeal again. I'll post pics of the bike as soon as I get them.

Got a new family member saturday. I went and got a pet of the weasel kind. It's a male ferret that's about 5 to 6 months old. He's a ball. Very playful , and while aggressive, not mean. He will wrestle with your hand or foot, but will not bite even if he can't tell it's a person i.e. he's in a shirt sleeve or some other place and unable to see what it wrestling with him. Very curious and very determined. Not sure yet if this is a good combo or not. I'll post some pics of him when I get some. Oh, and I also am just getting over a case of bronchitis so bad I was give an inhaler for it on saturday.

    <lj:music>H.I.M. Uneasy Listening Vol. 1</lj:music>

Wow, where to begin. I hadn't realized I havn't posted for so long. Been so busy with other things. Well I guess a good place to start is that I have moved to washington state because I could no longer deal with the heat of oklahoma summers. It is a sad testament that almost everything I owned fit into my car. I guess I have just never been one for having a lot of material posessions. I had my nipples pierced for a while, but ended up taking them out because they kept snagging on things and weren't healing right. I had a job for a couple of months at an auto body shop, but they started messing with my pay and not giving me the alloted time to work on my jobs and then griping at me because they were not finished so I quit there. I am currently working through a temp agency at a place that makes lumber mill band saw blades as a CNC sharpening grinder operator. With luck I will get hired on in 2 more months by the company itself. It isn't what I would love to be doing in life, but it is fufilling and pays my bills. I am still driving the 1978 chevy nova that I had in highschool, but it looks nothing like it did when I got it back in '97. God, 10 years. Where has the time gone. It seems like just yesterday I was in high school and always hanging out with the 2 people who mattered most to me in the whole world then; and are still more often than not on my mind wondering how they are doing, Jana and Miah. What I wouldn't give to be back in that time of my life, so carefree and with the future still out in front of me, instead of felling like it is slipping past me as it does now. I am going to be getting back into martial arts training as soon as I can find a place that I like and can afford. I need to get back in to shape and get my reflexes back to where they need to be. I will try and post some pics on here soon, but not sure when I'll be able to. For now I think I am going to go write some poetry as I am in a very introspective mood. if anyone would like to read anything I have written just ask I and will either e-mail them, or post them.
Why do people feel it is okay to play with other people emotions? Do people get a kick out of it or something? Why can't people just be honest if they don't feel anything beyond a physical attraction? Honesty is a lost art these days I guess. Makes me outdated because I believe in being honest about how I feel. Honesty may hurt someone a little, but if you lie and the truth comes out later it hurts one hell of a lot more.

They were clad in green in spring and summer, and the sound of their singing could be heard even across the waters of Gelion; wherefore the Noldor named that country Lindon, the land of music, and the mountains beyond they named Ered Lindon, for they first saw them from Ossiriand.

From a book called "The Silmarillion" by J.R.R.
If This Isn't True, It Should Still Be A Lesson

This is why we can live the way we do, thanks to our protectors.....

Last week, while traveling to Chicago on business, I
noticed a Marine sergeant traveling with a folded flag, but did not
put two and two together. After we'd boarded our flight, I turned to
the sergeant, who'd been invited to sit in First Class (and was seated
across from me, and inquired if he was heading home.

"No," he responded.

"Heading out?" I asked.

"No. I'm escorting a soldier home."

"Going to pick him up?"

"No. He is with me right now. He was killed in Iraq. I'm taking him home to his family."

The realization of what he had been asked to do hit
me like a punch to the gut. It was an honor for him. He told me that,
although he didn't know the soldier, he had delivered the news of his
passing to the soldier's family and felt as if he did know them
after so many conversations in so few days. I turned back to him,
extended my hand, and said, "Thank you. Thank you for doing what you
do so my family and I can do what we do."

Upon landing in Chicago the pilot stopped short of
the gate and made the following announcement over the intercom.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to note that we
have had the honor of having Sergeant Steeley of the United States
Marine Corps join us on this flight. He is escorting a fallen comrade back home to his family. I ask that you please remain in your seats when we open the forward door so as to allow Sergeant Steeley to deplane and
receive his fellow soldier. We will then turn off the seat belt sign."

Without a sound, all went as requested. I noticed the sergeant saluting the casket as it was brought off the plane, and his
action made me realize that I am proud to be an American. So here's
a public thank-you to our military for doing what you do so we can live
the way we do.

This is my personal add on to this message.

Some people may not agree with what is going on in Iraq, but regardless of if you agree with what is going on or not, it is important that we all give out support to those who are over there and especially for those who have given their lives to try and give to those people what so many here take for granted. One of the reasons I feel the way I do is because the odds are that some of my good friends from boot camp are over there right now, and one of my good friends is going to be going back over there soon. Not because he is being ordered to, but because he requested to because he believes in what we are doing. He has been there and knows what goes on that doesn't ever really get reported. Things like women being able to have a job, be part of the government, the soldiers playing baseball and football with the children. The everyday citizens who cry tears of joy and thank our fighting men for helping them get what they could not on their own: FREEDOM.

I really like the type of work it is as it also allows me to be creative and have an outlet for my artsy side, lol. I also just recently got back from Crossville Tennessee where I was taught metal working techniques to include how to use an english wheel.
